My book was American Sniper which is the autobiography of Chris Kyle who was the most lethal sniper in US history. The book begins with his childhood and how his life was growing up, he lived in a small town in Texas where he grew up learning how do deal with a ranch and about the values of hard work, when he was 18 he left to college he wanted to go to the armed forces but his parents didn't let him. While he was in college, he took up a job on a ranch where he was worked hard by a man that didn't tolerate mistakes. He eventually dropped out and tried to join the Navy but they wouldn't let him because of an injury he had from a rodeo, eventually they let him in. He then goes through rough training to get to the much harder BUD/S which taught him how to persevere even when he got beat up. After training he meets a girl in a bar and they start going out and right before his first deployment, they decide to get married. He was shipped off to Iraq as part of the initial invasion and got into a few firefights. After a while he is instructed to take a navigation class that he didn't like to much, he navigates the Polish military and eventually joins sniper school. When he gets out he becomes a full time sniper for the SEALs where he spends the rest of his times in Iraq a sniper. the book was an autobiography so it gave no details on his death, he was killed at a gun range in the US by another soldier with PTSD when he fired to rapidly. This book is important to us because it is a symbol of what it takes to defend our country "essentially, the instructors beat you down, then beat you down some more and when that's done, they kick your butt, and beat what's left down again."
